[Pine-info] Bug? : [Message X UID Y greater than last Z]

Several times lately, particularly while looking at a collection folder
and doing ;PN, I've gotten messages of the form :

[Message X UID Y greater than last Z]

sometimes the message stops Pine, until I slam keys more or less randomly
till I find a command that gets me out of the situation. Sometimes the
message keeps changing for a while. Sometimes, perhaps after a little
changing, it goes away and lets me go on from where I left off.

I have no idea whether this is even a Pine problem, an IMAP problem (The
server runs Dovecot); and I'm not really competent to file a bug report,
alas! 

Has anyone else seen it?
