Here's a Very Dumb Question about subscribing, something I don't
remember having seen before. 

I've been lurking on this list via gmane for longer than I recall, and
have very seldom posted until now. When I do, I don't get any message from
gmane about being subscribed, but I do get an auto-acknowledgment from
mbrsvcACK(at)golden1.com -- which seems to be a credit union. 

Does that mean I'm not subscribed, or just not auto-approved? Or do all
incoming posts (or all via gmane) get it? The acknowledgments don't
bother me, but I don't want to be any needless trouble. 

If I'm not subscribed and should be, I'll presume the subscription page
a/o address is at UW somewhere, and proceed accordingly. If I'm making no
trouble, no reply required. TIA!
