*** Gopi Sundaram (bagopalan at cse.sc.edu.comm) wrote in the pine-info list today:
:) Write a simple shell script:
:) echo $1 >> .bookmarks
:) Save that as a script, then set up Pine to use it as a url-viewer.
:) Trouble is, how do you differentiate between when you want to view the URL
:) and when you want to bookmark it?
That's an excellent idea. I think you could get around this by selecting
it at the moment you try to open it. For example, when you try to open it,
you can press the "A" command to "Edit application", which allows you to
change the path of the browser to the path of the bookmark it script.
The only problem I see with this is that it will get tiresome very
quickly. This is where macros help. I added the ability to use macros to
Pine in my "Define your own rules.." patch, and that will certainly help a
lot in this case, for this can be done with just one keystroke.
