NOTE: When new DOCLINE returns from its short absence tomorrow, you will
be able to input your SERHOLD updates.

These SERHOLD updates will be "real," that is, they will carry over into
the new DOCLINE system when it goes into production in mid-July.

Subject: Planned downtime of new DOCLINE & release of SERHOLD data

NOTICE *** NOTICE *** NOTICE
6/8/2000 4pm

All,

New DOCLINE will be unavailable the morning of Friday, June 9, 2000 in =
order to load the production version of the SERHOLD database. The =
system will be brought down beginning at 8am, however we ask that =
libraries do not attempt to access the system Friday morning even if it =
appears that you can. We will post a message when new DOCLINE is =
available.  =20

Once system access is restored, the SERHOLD data will be live. As was =
previously announced, the database is being refreshed from the data in old =
SERHOLD and all search and maintenance functions of SERHOLD will be =
production. Note: The individual library reports will not be available, =
but any library anxious to get started with updating holdings may begin =
doing so immediately.

Remember that for routing, the SERHOLD data in new DOCLINE will only =
affect the routing of requests in New DOCLINE. DOCLINE requests will =
continue to route according to the holdings in the old SERHOLD database.

The NLM system load test is still scheduled to take place the week of June =
12-16. The beta .08 release has been postponed until the week of June 19. =
