Have you filled out your registration for the PNC/MLA Annual Meeting?
Don't forget to sign up for "The Three Ps of Hospital Library Success: a
forum focused on strategies for hospital library survival, being
proactive, political and practical."

NN/LM PNR (a.k.a. Your RML) is sponsoring this one-day forum for hospital
librarians. It is an opportunity to hear from some of your constituents:
a hospital administrator, an information technology professional, and a
clinician. They will provide us with their view of hospital librarians,
insight into their colleagues and how to reach and work with them.

There will also be a panel of librarians who'll have some practical advice
to share.
* Martha Leredu is a business librarian from Seattle who will talk
about the value of a business plan for your library. Martha used to be a
hospital librarian so she can relate her business knowledge to your needs.
* Rosalind Dudden, hospital librarian extraordinaire from Denver,
will talk about ways to use MLA Benchmarking to show the value of your
library. By the way, Roz is authoring a book on how to show the value of
hospital libraries; she'll certainly share tips from her experiences.
* Ruth Holst will talk about the Hospital Internet Access Task Force
she chaired and lessons learned that you can take away and put into
practical use in your libraries. Ruth, who was recently Manager of
Library Services at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is now
Associate Director of the NN/LM GMR in Chicago.

The forum is being held the day before the start of the meeting, on
Saturday, October 2nd at the Washington Athletic Club, where PNC/MLA is
also taking place. The cost is $35.00 which will include lunch and
breaks. If you have already registered for the meeting but not for the
forum contact Arleen Libertini (liberta at empirehealth.org ) to update your
registration.
