The MLA satellite teleconference "The Art and Practice of Electronic
Journal, Book, and Database Licenses: Practical Tips for Healthcare
Organizations" will be broadcast on Wednesday, September 22, 2004. The
NN/LM PNR and the University of Washington Health Sciences Libraries
are sponsoring a broadcast of this program in Seattle.
The teleconference will be shown on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 from
11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Center on Human Development and Disability
(CHDD) Auditorium on the University of Washington campus. (map at
http://depts.washington.edu/chdd/directions.html)
There is no charge for attending this broadcast. However, you must
register with the RML so we will have materials for you. To do this email
nnlm at u.washington.edu or call 1-800-338-7657 (in Seattle call
206-543-8262) and speak to Patricia Devine or Maryanne Blake to get your
name on the list or to get more details. You will receive for 3 MLA CE
credits for attending the teleconference. Yes, this three-hour block of
time is right in the middle of the lunch hour. No, there is no food or
drink allowed in the CHDD auditorium. That is your penalty for living in
the great Pacific Northwest. Eat a big breakfast and plan on a late
lunch. You can bring a snack that you may eat outside the auditorium to
tide you over.
As always, the RML will purchase the videotape of the broadcast and make
it available to librarians in the region. We will put a message on PNRNews
and HLIB-NW to let everyone know when the tape is available. Remember to
look at the list of tapes, books and other resources available from the
RML Lending Library at http://nnlm.gov/pnr/etc/lendlist.html
