Family History - An Early Warning for Your Child, a CDC podcast currently available at http://www2a.cdc.gov:80/podcasts/player.asp?f=7307, discusses the importance of keeping a family history to increase awareness of potential health issues.  Pointers are given on creating and maintaining the family history.

health08.org (http://www.health08.org/index.cfm) is an effort by the Kaiser Family Foundation to provide a central hub for information about health policy issues in the 2008 election. The site provides analysis of policy issues, public opinion surveys, daily news updates, video of speeches and debates from the campaign trail, and original interviews.

The History of Medicine Division of the National Library of Medicine is pleased to announce that catalog records from the Prints and Photographs Collection's "Images from the History of Medicine" database (http://wwwihm.nlm.nih.gov/) are now searchable in NLM's online database LocatorPlus: http://locatorplus.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First.

* National Library of Medicine and NN/LM PNR holiday closures:

The NN/LM PNR Regional Medical Library and the National Library of Medicine will be closed December 25 and January 1 in observance of Christmas and New Year's Day.  NLM will also be closed on December 24.
