Montana PNR project: In 2008 the Flathead City-County Health Department
received a PNR planning award
(http://nnlm.gov/pnr/funding/Assessment_and_Planning_Award.html) to fund
a suicide prevention education project. Training entitled "Breaking the
Silence" was attended by health educators, social service providers,
case managers, counselors and administrators from local high schools and
middle schools. The training focused on school-based suicide awareness
program curriculums, content emphasizing help-seeking skills,
identification of signs of depression and suicidal behavior, and the
reduction of the stigma attached to mental illness. A goal was to
establish working relationships with area health educators, school
counselors, case managers, and librarians to support ongoing
implementation of a suicide prevention program.

**Montana caregivers integrate tribal beliefs ** *
Native American Carol Whiteman, who is sure that traditional Crow
ceremonies performed by and for her helped her recover from cancer, is
now acting as an advisor to network member Billings Clinic's cancer unit
to make modern medicine more palatable to American Indians with
traditional beliefs. Medical providers across Montana are realizing that
communication necessary to healing differs not only between the white
and American Indian populations in their state, but also between the
recognized American Indian tribes. Read more:

***MedlinePlus - Clouds, volcanoes, and info flows *
* Announcing a new feature on both MedlinePlus and MedlinePlus en
español: Search clouds showing the 100 most frequently searched terms.
Search clouds can be accessed at the bottom right of the MedlinePlus
home pages, or at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/cloud.html
(English) and http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/spanish/cloud.html (en
español). Clouds are usually updated every weekday. The search terms
appear in alphabetical order, and their size represents their relative
frequency. The bigger the term, the more often it is searched by people
who visit MedlinePlus. A term's exact ranking is found by placing your
cursor over the term, and you can click on any term in the search cloud
to conduct a search for that term in MedlinePlus. As the most popular
searches change over time and with the seasons, visitors can see the
dynamic and diverse interests of MedlinePlus users. For instance, the
term "tick bites" might appear in the cloud during the summer, and the
term "frostbite" might appear in the winter.
Create your own tag cloud from any text to visualize word frequency with
this tool from the Online Computer Library Center:
http://tagcloud.oclc.org/tagcloud/TagCloudDemo
* "Volcanoes" may not be a term that appears in large letters in the
MedlinePlus search cloud, but did you know that "Volcanoes" is one of
the MedlinePlus Health Topics? The Volcanoes page at
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/volcanoes.html links to information
on volcano hazards and such resources as the U.S. Geological Survey
Volcano Hazards Program (http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/), which currently
