			EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
				

POSITION TITLE:	Immunization Assessment Survey
Assistants		

CLOSING DATE: August 24, 1998
(Temporary position September 10th throughSeptember 16th)

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Public Health & Social Services

STARTING SALARY: $ 10.00 per hour

HOURS OF WORK: Approximately 40 hours total.  May include day,
evening and weekend hours over the 6 day period.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Thurston County Public Health and Social Services is conducting a
survey to determine the immunization status of two-year-olds currently
residing in Thurston County.  Thirty (30) Assistants are needed to
conduct door-to-door survey in randomly selected neighborhoods of
Thurston County.  Assistants will work in two person teams and be
trained in appropriate methods for random selection and data collection,
as well as other survey considerations.  The selected applicants must be
a minimum of 18 years of age and possess the following:

<	Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
<	Ability to interact effectively and courteously with participants,
the public, and others.
<	Ability to walk long distances over several days in a row.
<	Willingness to work outside regardless of the weather conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:	High School Diploma or GED
Licenses:	Current Washington State Drivers License
Interviewers may be required to use their own vehicles with mileage
reimbursement from Thurston County 

SELECTION PROCESS:  A completed official Thurston County application
and supplemental questionnaire must be submitted.  Selected candidates
will be contacted for an interview, after the closing date.

of applicants for most positions, unsuccessful applicants are generally
not notified.
