I personally was glad to receive this letter, although there is of
course no guarantee that it really was written by Michael Moore. I'm
not sure if it is appropriate for this listserv. However, of course,
politics and public health are inextricably linked, and sometimes
direct action/information is desperately needed on political
intiatives to avert serious setbacks in public health. So I wouldn't
want political content excluded from our discussions. Seems as if
having some consensus about what's appropriate would be good.

I believe that it is good to have opinions and to look for though
that would agree with thought opinions.
However, I am not sure about the use of this list for political
opinion, or the lobbying for actions based on one set of opinions.
Certainly the situation should be taken seriously, but the materials
to be considered should go well beyond a letter by Michael Moore.
None of us like any of this mess.
