Temporary Health Educator, Clackamas County Public Health Division
Oregon City, Oregon
Closing Date: November 5th
Salary Range: $2602 - $3291 D.O.E., 37.5 hours per week

The Clackamas County Public Health Division is seeking an individual with
strong communication skills and proven ability to develop and improve
community partnerships, for the role of Health Educator. Competitive
candidates will have a thorough knowledge of public health education
practices and promotion with emphasis on community mobilization.

The position is temporary and will terminate when a permanent full-time
health educator is hired through the county general recruitment process. The
individual appointed to the temporary position can apply for the permanent
position.

Duties include:
Assist in the development, planning, and implementation of the Clackamas
County Tobacco Education Program.
Implement and evaluate various aspects of the Tobacco Education Program
including direct outreach to restaurants, businesses, schools, and the
general public.
Prepare, deliver and facilitate trainings, workshops and presentations to
civic/community groups, educators, government agencies, and businesses in
order to motivate, promote, clarify, and build support for tobacco use
reduction.
Consult with members of the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Clackamas County
and other community leaders to advance the objectives of the Tobacco Use
Reduction Plan.
Work with the Oregon Health Division and health educators from neighboring
counties to determine and learn best practices for reducing the overall use
of tobacco in Clackamas County.
