Please excuse this if it is a repeat. I was actually searching for
something else when I arrived at a site offering me a download of the Health
and Literacy Compendium. I didn't scan many pages before I was downloading
the 'pdf' document. You can access this resource and just read or download
at - http://hub1.worlded.org/health/comp/
The subtitle of the publication is, "An annotated bibliography of print and
Web-based health materials for use with limited-literacy adults." There are
lists of actual materials, including some in languages other than English.
I think Russian has been requested on this list before, and two Russian
listings were offered. One was an interesting publication called,
Multilingual Health Education Resource Guide, which I think has been noted
on this list before. If not, that is a publication of the Center for
Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC. It's available for $7 from: Refugee
Service Center, Center for Applied Linguistics, 4646 40th Street, NW,
Washington, DC 20016-1859. Phone: 202/362-0700. Margo
