Laura, you always give us such great ideas, and most can be put to immediate
My Western Washington University class was in the computer lab on Thursday
night, and we had a great time. I learn and re-learn the same ideas all
over again. There are lots of folks who really like to use keyboard
commands, just as you suggest. I always tell my students that there are
usually 3-4 or more different ways to do the same thing on their computer,
and there isn't really one that is the "right" way.
I required that certain information be printed out in lab, and even watching
the students use the print command screen is interesting. Some print the
whole document, regardless of length (I squirm at the wasted paper). Some
select individual pages, and some use the "selection" option. They
highlight what they want, and print only the absolutely necessary part.
We're all learners when it comes to technology, and it's great to know there
is more than one way to do something. Thanks for sharing. Margo
