POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Community Development Program Coordinator:
The program coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of activities,
often with minimal direction, and will exercise independent judgment within
delegated program areas:
* Initiate and assist in the management and delivery of technical
assistance in health systems for rural and underserved communities in
western Washington. Adapt and design program resources as needed for the
changing health services environment.
* Organize, broker and supervise resources in health assessments,
market surveys, management and organizational analyses, financial analyses,
strategic planning, and associated specific activities of importance to
rural and underserved community health systems development.
* Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with local health
professionals, local health jurisdictions, and community leaders in
development of organizational structures for provision and support of
improved health systems.
* Develop and maintain collaborative relationships in support of rural
and underserved programs with professionals involved in private, state and
federal programs related to health systems.
* Provide coordination of the Retired Providers Malpractice Insurance
Program. Design and implement an information clearinghouse. Provide
technical assistance to clinics to expand their utilization of volunteers.
* Assist with the preparation of grant applications, evaluation of
community programs, development of policies to improve local, state, and
federal rural and underserved health system programs.
Qualifications:
* Experience and competence with community development activities
applicable to the development of health systems in rural and underserved
communities.
* Experience and competence in coalition development, group
facilitation and mediation.
* Experience in the initiation and evaluation of community-based
programs.
* An ability to work comfortably with a wide variety of health care
professionals and community leaders within institutional and community
settings.
* A master's degree in a health care profession or in a field with
high potential for contributing to rural and underserved health.
