Children's Hospital has received a contract from Washington State Department
of Health, Injury Prevention Program, to help develop a campaign to educate
families about child product safety and recalls (for example, recalls of
cribs or playpens). Funding is certain through June 2002. We are recruiting
a .5 FTE Health Educator to work on campaign development.  If you are

HEALTH EDUCATOR
Salary: Min. $17.48 per hour, DOE.
Develop a statewide infant and child product safety campaign in
collaboration with parents, hospitals, health and childcare providers,
businesses, libraries, government agencies, and other groups. The purpose of
the campaign is to decrease injuries related to recalled child products and
increase awareness and action of parents and child care providers in seeking
information about product safety and recalls. This campaign is funded
through a contract with Washington State Department of Health Injury
Prevention Program. The ideal candidate will posses strong organizational
skills, experience working with community groups, experience planning;
implementing and evaluating community health promotion programs and
experience developing materials. Requires Bachelor's degree in Health
Education, Public Health or related field, and at least 3 years recent
experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health
education programs. Master's degree can serve in place of up to 2 years
experience. Prefer Master's degree in Health Education, Public Health, or
related field and experience in the health care field or social service
industry.
