Margo - I have followed this issue a bit - and the ownership of guns is not
the question or the issue - this is taken out of context (I believe) from
the ASK campaign which addresses access and storage issues around children.

Subject: Update on doctors asking about gun ownership

I went to the AARP website to check on the vote on the gun ownership
question. If you didn't see my original post, I mentioned that the AARP
publication, My Generation, was asking readers to vote on whether or not
doctors should ask patients if they owned a gun. The online poll asks you
to choose from these two options:

Yes, doctors should ask - it is a public health issue
No, doctors shouldn't ask - it violates ethical boundaries

Want to guess how the poll is going, although no "real" numbers are given
for number of votes?

Did you guess - Yes votes - 1.5%
                          No votes - 98.5%

Interesting, but maybe not surprising results. There is still time for you
to vote at - www.mygeneration.org Margo
