Medlibbers,

For everyone who has inquired about the web page "El Consultorio"
you'll be happy to know that it is ready. The URL is
http://www.stcc.cc.tx.us/lrc/Library/webdirectory/elconsultorio.htm. It
contains words and expressions pertaining in Spanish pertaining to
health and medicine. Many are home remedies and cultural beliefs. I
did many interviews of folks here in deep south Texas and northeastern
Mexico.

This is a web page to accompany the gateway page "A Su Salud". In
this area "El Consultorio" will be used by the STCC Spanish department
to accompany their new textbook "Tesoros de nuestra gente", published by
Houghton Mifflin, and has cultural lessons and exercises for heritage
speakers in this region.

Let me know what you think about the web page. Will it be useful in
your area. Can medical librarians use the page. Will their patrons
find it handy.

"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn. " Alvin Toffler
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." T. S. Eliot
"The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both." James Michener
