Safe Routes to Schools Fund 50 Day!

Tuesday, March 22, 2005


9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Washington State Capitol, Olympia

 
On Tuesday, March 22, 2005 hundreds of Safe Routes to Schools' advocates
will gather at the Capitol to advocate State legislators to Fund 50! 
Fund 50 schools with $100,000 by allocating
$5 million to the Washington Safe Routes to Schools Program
for healthier children and better communities.

The Day's activities include brief advocacy training and legislative
briefing, Safe Routes hosted legislator lunch, distribute reflector
giveaways to all legislators and governor, art contest, and more!

Here is the present schedule for the day:


9:00 am      meet at the Rotunda


9:00 am      begin program (welcome, legislative briefing, brief tips on
talking with legs & what to do, organize by districts, etc.)


10:00 am    break to meet with legs, committee meetings, etc. etc.


12:00   legislator lunch at Tivoli Fountain (pray for sun & weather like
this)


            Welcome by Sec. MacDonald


            Governor Gregroire?? (photo opps with kids, shake hands, speak?)


            Present/highlight posters (SR2S projects)


            (donít think Iím going to have enough time to do the whole art
contest thing..sorry)


1:00 pm    break to continue meeting with legs, committee meetings, etc.
etc.


3-5:00 pm  depart (Iím sure not all will stay until 5pm)
