BoatU.S. Foundation Boating Safety and Clean Water is offering grants of
up $4000 to promote safe boating.  Local community organizations and
nonprofit groups are eligible.

Each year the foundation admits 40 sites into its Life Jacket Loaner
Program for kids.  Marinas, fuel docks, and other waterfront businesses
are eligible to participate in the program.  Application instructions
and supporting materials are available on the website:

In addition, selected states are eligible for a state administered life
jacket loaner program, where marine control units are equipped with
loaner life jackets.  State Boating Law Administrators may contact the
foundation to apply at (703) 823-9550 x3249 or boatingsafety at boatus.com
