PNW SOPHE Film Screening & Discussion: 10/7 & 10/28
The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Society for Public Health
Education (PNW SOPHE) invites you to attend two film screenings on
Tuesday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 28th.
This autumn, PNW SOPHE will host free film screenings of the
award-winning series, “Unnatural Causes”.
“Unnatural Causes” explores how population health is shaped by the
social and economic conditions in which we are born, live, and work.
Through portraits of individuals and families across the United States,
this series reveals the root causes and extent of alarming health
inequities and the search for solutions. Along the way, it confronts
the inadequacy of conventional explanations such as genetics, individual
behaviors and even access to quality healthcare.
Come join us for the film screening, discussion afterwards, and
complimentary popcorn while you watch the show! Ms. Devon Love, PNW
SOPHE's Advocacy Chair, will facilitate discussion after each film.
Two episodes of the series will be shown in October. Both events are
free. Everyone is welcome.
Dates: Tuesday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 28th, 2008
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Location: Swedish Medical Center's Cherry Hill Auditorium in Seattle,
WA (in the Cherry Hill neighborhood)
Episodes to be shown:
Tuesday, Oct. 7th - "In Sickness & In Wealth"
Tuesday, Oct. 28th - "Place Matters"
