Funding Announcement for Communities, Tribes and Practices in Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho - pre-application due 3/25/2011

Greetings,

The Institute of Translational Health Sciences (www.ITHS.org<http://www.ITHS.org>) is pleased to announce the availability of the ITHS Community/Practice/Tribe-Based Research Activity Funding Program which is available to communities, American Indian and Alaska Native tribes and practices within the 5-WWAMI states (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho). The goal is to involve communities and practices in every stage of health research and to promote studies that address their priorities and health concerns. Members of the academic research community are NOT eligible to apply. Scope of projects include:

· Conference, seminar or course attendance

· Organize a gathering of your community, practice or tribe

· Conducting research or quality improvement work

To be considered for this award, it is required that you complete the pre-application form. You must use this form and email it to Leah Tuzzio at tuzzio.l at ghc.org, or call (206) 287-2109 or Abigail Echo-Hawk, Tribal Liaison, at hawkd3 at uw.edu or (206) 616-5957. After reviewing your pre-application, we will invite applicants to submit a full application. Only applicants who are invited to submit a full application may do so.

Notification of award

Because this is the last year of the ITHS grant cycle, funds are only available from June 1, 2011 through April 30, 2012. Applications for projects that clearly can be completed before April 30, 2012 will be the priority to select for funding.
