Register for the 2003 Health Disparities Symposium!

The 2003 Health Disparities Symposium: Social Determinants: Methods and
Practice will be held May 6th-8th at UW and will feature a keynote address
by social epidemiologist John W. Lynch from the University of Michigan:
"Population Health and Health Disparities: The Role of Social Epidemiology".

The symposium will also include a faculty panel outlining current
developments in social determinants of health research, presentations by
Public Health - Seattle / King County highlighting the challenges of
addressing the social determinants of health in public health practice and
two advanced methodology workshops.

The epidemiology workshop will focus on framing research questions and
addressing design and measurement issues in the study of the social
determinants of health.  The statistics workshop will discuss causal
inference and hierarchical modeling as they relate to social epidemiology.
