Here's a couple of items regarding recovery efforts for cultural
institutions in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Gary
>From the Louisiana State Librarian:
I am pleased to announce that I just found out that New Orleans Public's
archives have NOT been lost. The camera took pics at a strange angle to
give the appearance that the first floor was flooded but we just received
word that it is not. I am so happy I am in tears. So many important
historical documents were stored here...Munters? is working to remove them
and get them out of the city. This is a great day to know they have been
spared.
