Hello Elizabeth - What about the folks at the Puget Sound Regional
Archives based at Bellevue Community College? They designed their space,
tho' it's about 10 years ago now. And Jodee Fenton of the Seattle Room
at Seattle Public Library?

Hello everyone,

 

This summer we will be roughly doubling the size of our current
University Archives space. I am thinking of applying for an NEH
Preservation Assistance Grant for Smaller Institutions for up to $5000
to cover either the cost of hiring a consultant to help us design the
new space or to purchase shelving for the new area. Can any of you
suggest a person for firm with experience designing archives and rare
book collection spaces? I will be writing up this grant by the end of
this month, so a prompt response would be most appreciated. I've already
been warned that $5,000 may not be enough for a design service.
