Greetings list!
I've been using Pubcookie successfully with a Zope/Plone website for about
a year now. I've been using the LOGIN.cgi script recommended by Frank's
excellent how-to on pubcookie and zope/plone:
http://www.washington.edu/webinfo/case/zope/
Recently I've noticed a strange behaviour when logging in to my site.
The expected behaviour is that a user clicks the login button, which loads
http://mysite.edu/LOGIN (the aforementioned CGI), is redirected to the
pubcookie login server, and then is redirected back to the page from which
the login request originated.
Now, clicking on login simply reloads the current page (despite the fact
that the link on the button is still http://mysite.edu/LOGIN). If one
immediately reloads the page, you are then redirected to the pubcookie
login server, and all proceeds as expected.
In my own experience, the change to this new behaviour coincides with my
'upgrading' to Firefox 3. I have at least one user who insists that the
strage behaviour started for her before FF3 was released, but i'm not
convinced that is true. At any rate, it is true that Opera, Safari and
even IE 6 and 7 behave as expected. The only browser that has an issue
appears to be FF3. I've got another user who still has FF2, and they are
_not_ having the same problem.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? I've tried googling for
results related to FF3, pubcookie, plone/zope and other keywords, but have
found nothing useful. Any suggestions of ways I might begin to debug this
problem are certainly welcome.
Thanks
Cris
