Join U-HELP and Become A Peer Health Educator!

What's U-HELP?  U-HELP stands for the University Health Education
Leadership Program. U-HELP is a program that gives student volunteers the
opportunity to develop facilitation and communication skills while
providing a needed service to the campus community.

What's a Peer Health Educator? A Peer Health Educator (PHE) is a member of
U-HELP. The PHEs conduct a variety of health promotion and health
education activities with and for other students. PHEs conduct workshops,
facilitate small group discussions, help plan and conduct campus-wide
events, staff the Wellness Resource Center, talk with other students
one-to-one, give tours of Hall Health, attend conferences, participate on
various campus committees, and many other fun and interesting activities.

Who can apply? Any UW student who has a cumulative g.p.a. of 2.45 or
better. You must also complete an application and interview. Students from
all majors, ages, affiliations, sexual orientations, and levels of ability
are encouraged to apply.

Where to pick up applications: the Wellness Resource Center (Hall Health
Primary Care Center, Room 213)

Important Dates
January 3			Applications available
January 24			Applications due (5 p.m.)
January 31 - February 11	Interviews
February 15 - 18		Applicants notified
March 28			Spring training begins Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30 - 5 p.m.
September 11 - 15		Autumn training, M - F, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
