Dear all:

I am a student at the University of Washington and the campus coordinator
here for a non-partisan organization called Americans for Informed Democracy
(www.aidemocracy.org).

I am writing to invite members of this listserv to an important UW town hall
meeting that our organization is hosting this Tuesday (November 22nd) at
7:30 PM in Smith 120. The town hall is called "Fighting for What's Right"
and it will address how the UW and Seattle community can be involved in the
daunting but attainable task of ending global poverty. The event will
feature William H. Gates, Sr., Co-Founder of the Initiative for Global
Development; Thomas Reynolds, Regional Director of C.A.R.E.; Scott Jackson,
Senior Vice President, World Vision; and Wolfram Latsch, Professor in the UW
Jackson School of International Studies. Admission is free and the general
public and UW students are invited to attend.

I have copied below an announcement about the event. We are really trying to
make this town hall a broad, diverse gathering that brings in people from
different departments, perspectives, and positions from all across the UW
and Seattle community. We hope you can join us.

Many thanks,
