Hey everyone:

Margo just sent me notice about this event on Thursday afternoon. It
sounds interesting, so I figured that we'd make it the topic of our
meeting next Monday (the last of the quarter).

For those who can't make it on Thursday afternoon, I'll try to find some
related material online and send it out afterward, so you won't be lost
at the meeting.

----
The Relationship between Christianity and Science in Historical
Perspective: Galileo, Darwin, and the Scopes Monkey Trial

Date: March 01, 2007 (Thursday)
Location: Hitchcock 320
Time: 4:30pm-5:30pm
Speaker: Dr. James Felak

Dr. James Felak will give a brief overview of science in the Middle
Ages, followed by a discussion of three cases of conflict between
Christianity and science in their historical contexts. Also, an attempt
will be made to show that the relationship between Christianity and
science is far more complex than is often assumed, and to challenge
modern myths about this relationship.
----

Also, our Monday meeting will be at the same time, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.,
but we'll be in HUB 209A this time. I'll remind everyone again later
about it.

Hope to see a bunch of you there on Thursday!

Chris
