   The South Asia Chai will be held in Thom 317 this Friday, Dec 1, 2:30 PM. Professors Cabeiri Robinson and Craig Jefrrey will co-host the FLAS workshop during the chai and answer questions

Agenda: (1) How to prepare a scholarship proposal application (esp. for FLAS, 
India Association fellowship, and JSIS TA ships)

*why "analyzing" the purpose of the fellowship helps you prepare a great 
application

*how a fellowship application/ scholarship proposal is different from a 
personal statement
*why/when you should establish a file for letters of rec with the UW Careers 
office
*factors to consider in selecting recommenders and what to provide to your 
recommender to aid her/him in the preparation of your letter
*creating a CV as record of academic endeavors and seriousness
