Dear Colleagues,

We're writing to ask for your help in promoting the Library Research Award
for Undergraduates. The award recognizes students who use library resources
for course projects.  Winners demonstrate an awareness of the depth and
breadth of print and online sources and employ thoughtful search strategies
in identifying which ones to use. All undergraduates in any major are
welcome to apply.

Librarians who teach, write blogs or newsletters, or meet with faculty and
students have been key to encouraging students to apply and faculty to get
involved, too. We would very much appreciate your assistance again this
year. Attached is a one-page information sheet about the Research Award. The
Web site at http://www.lib.washington.edu/researchaward/ has all the
details, including information about previous award winners and their
projects, and links to the online application form. The deadline is May 18,
2009.

We'd be happy to answer any questions about the Research Award.  Thank you
for your support of this program!
