The Pakistan Students Association is sponsoring one event by Todd Shea, and
the South Asia Center a second next week:
1)
We would like to invite you to hear Todd Shea discuss his experiences around
the globe. Todd is an American who volunteered in Pakistan after the 2005
earthquake, a disaster that killed nearly 80,000 people. He established a
charity hospital in Kashmir called CDRS, or Comprehensive Disaster Relief
Services, which provides quality healthcare services to the people in the
remote and earthquake-affected areas in northwest Pakistan. For over a
decade now, he has been working to improve the health and well-being of
underprivileged communities. Along with doing volunteer work in New Orleans,
and Sri Lanka, more recently Todd had been doing emergency relief work in
Hati, and on going work in Pakistan promoting long-term humanitarian aid. He
is also a credible candidate for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize award this
year, and he is coming to UW to share his stories and experiences.
Please join us this coming Monday, May 24th from 4-5:30 pm in Savery 131 for
this great opportunity. Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to
seeing you all there!
