SSNet is under way! The agenda for the first-of-year meeting and an
overview of SSNet projects (circulated at that meeting) are now
available on the SSNet website. Here are a couple of notices and
reminders about events in prospect.

October 20 -- Manufactured Controversy
This is the first SSNet Colloquium meeting in the Fall series on
"Science in Democracy," and will be led by Leah Ceccarelli. For
details and readings, check the website:
http://depts.washington.edu/ssnet/science_in_democracy.shtml

In the spirit of running these colloquia as working seminars, RSVP's
are required and attendance will be limited to 20 participants. The
RSVP link for October 20 is now open; you'll find it at the top of the
SSNet home page:
http://depts.washington.edu/ssnet/

Note that the October 13th meeting listed on the SSNet Calendar is not
an open/RSVP session; it is designed for the graduate students
registered in the HUM596 micro-seminar.
