My Fellow Swing Kids,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to the new Swing Kids at UW forum! The website is going
to be redesigned again soon so look out for that, but in the mean time, you can access the forum by
going to either http://students.washington.edu/swingkd/forum or by going to the Swing Kids website
- http://students.washington.edu/swingkd - and clicking on "members".
If you want to post on the forum, please register for the forum. It's really simple, just click register up
at the top.
Soon you will begin to see a lot of information posted on the forum. A lot of scheduling information
will be posted on the forum. i.e. lesson schedules, lesson times, rehearsal times, event
announcements, etc. Please start checking the forum regularly for these things. Highly time sensitive
information will still be sent out in email but hopefully the forum will reduce the number of email
messages sent to the swing kids and swing friends mailman lists.
One major difference in policy here. Because the forum resides on a University of Washington server,
your posts must comply with the following guidelines as part of the University of Washington Computer
Use Policy - http://www.washington.edu/computing/rules/
- No Copyrighted Material
-Do not post copyrighted pictures.
-Do not post copyrighted music.
-Do not post any content that violates the DMCA.
- No Political Agendas
-You may not use this forum to promote any political agendas or campaignes.
-No Personal Gain
-You may not use this forum to help with a business.
-It is okay to post something advertising an event or product.
-It is NOT okay to use the forums to actually register people for these events or to take orders for
products.
-No Objectional Content
-We will be monitoring the forum to remove questionable content as well as anything that violats
UW's Computer Use Policy, but please don't make the job hard for us.
-Anything deemed "Questionable" or "Objectional" by a reasonable person (especially C&C & Forum
Moderators) could be grounds to get the forum shut off.
If C&C finds content of this nature on the forum they are well within their rights to order us to
shutdown the forum. We don't want to see that happen.
If you have any questions about what kind of material can be posted on the forum, please email me at
brettnak at u.washington.edu or Faifan at funfai at u.washington.edu
Sorry for any typos/grammar errors, I'm tired.
