IDAHO, MOSCOW 83844-3021.  University of Idaho.  ASSISTANT PROFESSOR. 
Tenure track position  beginning August 1999.  PhD required.  We are
looking for applicants with expertise in remote sensing and remote
sensing/GIS integration.  Competence in spatial analysis and spatial
statistics is desired, along with a substantive research field in
either physical or human geography.  Research experience and
commitment to continued use of remote sensing in research is expected.
 Applicants should demonstrate success in teaching beginning and
advanced courses, and should have a record of research publication and
external funding.  The department is part of the College of Mines and
Earth Resources, with good connections to state agencies and industry
groups.  The successful candidate will have opportunities to work on
collaborative research with colleagues in the department and in
colleges of Agriculture, Forestry, and the Idaho Water Research
Institute.  Information about departmental programs  and research
