The PRISM (www.prism.washington.edu) data group has been talking to people
from MathSoft about their spatial data mining engine. As I understand it,
their Geo Mining Query Language enables trainable searching of large image
datasets and vector data in databases. They are interested in seeing
interesting problems and datasets at the university. Perhaps someone in
geography or another area would like to give these researchers an
opportunity to present their work to a larger audience. Perhaps Nick
would enjoy talking to people would do not make rude remarks when he
mentions such newfangled ideas as databases?
