Dear Professor Chrisman,
I am a fellow in occupational/environmental medicine at UW. I am doing a
project looking for a possible association between traffic counts on
heavily trafficked roads and asthma exacerbations in children. I am
looking for someone to help me learn ArcView so that I can do a specific
task: I'd like to pick out certain road segments (eg, Aurora between the
Aurora bridge and Denny Way), and the measure the distances of children's
homes to each of these road segments. I have the addresses of all of
these children in my study. Would you have any recommendations on how I
could most quickly learn to do this? It has been recommended to me that I
have a graduate student with expertise in ArcView tutor me in this. Would
you know any interested graduate students who would be available to help
me? I am currently looking for funding to pay for someone to tutor me in
this. I would like to have all the data generated by the end of June, if
possible.
Thank you.
Jiho Huang
