I indicated that people should check their subnet masks, when I meant to
say you should check your *gateway* values.

We have verified that if your network gateway is not configured properly,
you may still be able to use some network services, but you will not be
able to obtain a license from one of the license servers.  This will
affect both installation of ArcGIS and running of ArcGIS.

Ask your local network/system administrator or contact C&C to verify your
gateway is set correctly.  This should clear up your problems.
