As some people know I have not been able to get ArcGIS to install following
the instructions on the web site. At the point during installation where it
prompts for the name of the license server it returns "Server name entered
is invalid" for "sde..." and "peat..." and "No server for this feature ---
FLEXim error: -3, 121" for "lobo...". I may have found a work around though.
After the install fails to access the license server I pressed the cancel
button. Then it prompts to "Update Microsoft system files" any way. Press
the update, reboot and it will continue to install the programme. ArcGIS
will not run of course because it sets the local host as the license
server. Using the administrator tool I set the license severe to "sde...".
It accepted it this time and worked from then on. At least it has on one
machine. I'll be trying others tomorrow.
