ArcGIS Users Needed for Columbia Materials Recovery
The STS-107 Columbia Disaster materials recovery project is still looking
for experienced ArcGIS 8.2 users. The project will be concluded May 15.
Mapping will cease shortly before that date.
People meeting the requirement as an ArcGIS user must be registered in the
Incident Command System (ICS) established by the National Wildfire
Coordination Group (NWCG). Non-Federal employees can be hired as ADs.
For an assignment like this, an ICS GIS Technical Specialist has no physical
fitness requirement. The process of entry into ICS can be simple, if your
employer participates.
FEMA expects the home unit to pay Base 8 salary and, at this stage of the
incident, allows no more than 12 working hours per day.
If you or someone you know can get your supervisor's permission to
participate, send an e-mail to john.perry at fema.gov with the following
information:
Name
Organization
Work phone
Cell phone if possible
