[UW-GIS-L] ArcMap question

Good morning, I had an arcmap .MXD file crash (cannot "read" memory...), then when I tried to re-open it I got a message saying the file does not contain a valid arcmap document.  And it won't open.  Anyone ever have this happen, and were you able to fix it? I went to the ESRI support webpages, and there is an MXDDoctor utility, but I do not have that on my machine.  (I'd need additional setup from the installation CD to install the ArcObjects Developer Kit.)  So - without that, what can I do? Thanks for any help you can offer!~Tina Rohila
