Don't get me started. I just spent 2 days trying to fix this problem that
you have been noticing, and after tracking it to a particular piece of
hardware, found out that it was not my problem but the IT folks. So to make
a long story short: it should be fixed now. I'm certain that our IT folks
would want me to extend an apology to all of you who were affected, sorry.

Is sde.gis.washington.edu just cranky?
I had problems getting a license from it last night.
I just checked, and I got a license, although I cannot ping the server.
