[UW-GIS-L] Canopy Coverage

Greetings,

I am a graduate student at University of Washington now living in
Corvallis working on my Ph.D research project.  I am in need of help
computing canopy coverage of different neighborhoods in Seattle,
Washington using orthophotos.  I have a polygon shapefile of the
neighborhoods and a CD of the orthophotos.

My GIS ability is limited, but I have research funds to hire a
consultant to do this work for me.  My time for this project is also
severely limited--ideally I would like this work to be done in the next
week or so.  Do you know of anyone with the expertise and time in the
next week few weeks to do this analysis for me?  Or is there someone who
could give me a tutorial about how to calculate canopy cover from
orthophotos?
