[UW-GIS-L] Need for a new license server for UW ESRI site license

Hey all,
  This is a note to all, that the ArcGIS 8.x and 9.x license server 
"zeus.caup.washington.edu" will be going offline (as will I) on July 7, 
2006.

So the UW GIS community needs to step up with another license server (we 
have multiple ones going now, but it is always nice to have several). It 
is not a difficult thing for a machine to do, it just has to be stable 
and on all the time - my trusty SGI (zeus) which I have rebooted maybe 4 
times in the 4 years it has been running is being decomissioned and I am 
taking a faculty positon at the University of Georgia.

So, I hope this is enough time for people to start the migration to 
other license servers and for someone to offer another machine. I would 
be willing to help in the transition with getting the license server 
software up and running (zeus - a UNIX box - currently serves both 8.x 
and 9.x licenses, so I know it can be done).
