[UW-GIS-L] arcinfo grid will not start under solaris 10

I have (I was surprised too.) a new Sun running solaris 10, and just 
installed arcinfo.  I can start arc, but grid, arcplot and arcedit fail:
*Arc: grid
FATAL ERROR (ReOpenChannel)
Transition problems
Bailing out of GRID
GRID failed
Arc:
*I installed arcinfo in my usual solaris manner: copying the arcexe9x 
(version 9.1, May 3, 2005) directory from another sun (in this case 
solaris 9) and editing .cshrc.  This is my first machine with solaris 
10.  I could try installing directly from the disks if someone strongly 
suggests it, but it's inconvenient to get to the server, and that has 
never been necessary before.
