[UW-GIS-L] China Data Here

Thanks! These are from 1990 and therefore are
missing the very important fact that Chongqing got
taken out of Sichuan and turned into a centrally
controlled city. This reduced the size of Sichuan
by about 25%. However, the data from Columbia does
have the county boundaries. These have changed a
bit, but I was able to work from a picture of a
county map of Chongqing to create a little
shapefile of Chongqing to put ontop of my Sichuan
file. It works well enough. Still though, I would
be interested in 2000 or later boundaries if
anyone knows where they can be gotten. I did find
evidence of them on the China Data Center website
but only for sale - apparently our subscription to
that site doesn't include the spatial data, only
the digitized statistical yearbooks.

thanks again!

amanda :)
