[UW-GIS-L] shape to arc problem

Hi everybody,
  Imagine that you have a *.shp file (polygon) and you want to send to the ARCINFO environment. When it is coverted to arc coverage (by using shape to arc option in arcinfo)  and applied topology on it, it loses the attribute table.
   
  I am sure that there is a simple way of doing it.
   
  How can I open a polygon shape file as it is,in arcinfo.
