[UW-GIS-L] Tabular data to polygon

Hello,
Is there a way to take sequential data with unique item numbers and convert it into unique polygons. IE I have a list of coordinates that I would prefer not to have to digitize. I would like to create a polygon with vertices in the order they are listed or by oint number. Especially useful is if I could have two columns of indexes. One fore the sequence of vertices and another column indicating a new polygon.
