Hi,

To create python scripts with the geoprocessing tools in arctoolbox you
can use the ModelBuilder tool that can be accessed from the Arctoolbox
in ArcMap.

I will create a Model that maps the process you want to have done and
save it. I would tested, and then exported to a python script to run
your batch. I would recomend to read all the references from the
ModelBuilder in the ArcGIS Desktop Help application. You can also create
a batch of your model once it you know it works.
