[UW-GIS-L] can't view ArcInfo raster in ArcMap 9.2

Tell ArcMap/Catalog not to make the .rrd pyramid files: Tools > Options > Raster > Never build pyramids...

I've heard it's the rrd aux problem. I am generating several generations of grids using the same name with AI scripts, then checking them in AM. Even if I kill the old version in AI and make  new ones with same name, I guess the rrd and aux files stick around, screwing up AM. This is making directory housekeeping a nightmare! If I remember to delete the old rrd aux files, this seems to work ok.

Elizabeth, are you mixing projections?  Are the grids still invisible if you "zoom to layer"?  Did you create a bad grid  and replace it without clearing the old aux and rrd files?

You should not have problems running arcmap and workstation at the same time.

Hello GIS'ers
I have arcmap and arcinfo (9.2 with 6th patch, XP platform) running at the same time and generate grids in info and import them into arcmap. For some reason, I cannot view the grids in arcmap. I don't think it's a projection issue, and the grids look fine in AI grid. They load in the layers window, but are blank in the map viewing screen. If I convert the grids into .tifs with Arc catalog, that seems to work, but I have never had this problem before and want to correct it. Is this some sort of weird problem with generating grids in info while arcmap is running. Help! thanks!
