US zip codes are based on central mail processing facilities codes
(first 3 digits), and then individual post offices within the processing
facility delivery area (final 2 digits). Central mail processing
facilities are typically assigned by city or other postal delivery area
- unfortunately nothing so straightforward as state/county. So the zip
codes for King County will depend on the delivery codes for Seattle
(981##), Bellevue/Kirkland (980##), etc.

 

You can find zip codes for cities within King County at the US Post
Office website: http://www.usps.com/

I am working with USA data. I have a zip code map but I don't understand
how is build this code?. The state first, the county and what else?.
Excuse me if my question was so silly. But I think that the code that I
need is 717.
